Hiphop Night at National Palace Museum!

The Hiphop Night at NPM was a hybrid of a concert and a fashion show, with the collaboration of Taiwanese well-known hip-hop singers Dwagie, Bear, and Korean American rapper Flowsik. They teamed up with Taiwanese fashion designer Daniel Wong, Bob Jian, JUST IN XX, and Jolin Wu. The event, Open Data Crossover Cultural Night: Hip Hop at NPM, aimed to break the boundaries between art, fashion, and hip-hop culture. The visual concept combines two completely different or even extreme conflicting elements. Hip Hop and street culture and The buddhist classic “The Tibetan Dragon Sutra”.

Styleframe & Process

This bold and humorous motion piece blends live-action with stylized 2D graphics to amplify the energy of a hip-hop-inspired performance. Gold, black, and white dominate the visual language, referencing luxury, confidence, and cultural swagger. Animated rings, crowns, hand gestures, and exaggerated typography surround the performer, creating a dynamic interplay between rhythm and graphic flair.

The design direction channels a playful "bling" aesthetic—layering symbols of status with pop-art animation—while the choreography and syncopated visuals deliver punchy, meme-ready moments. It's a fusion of traditional Chinese flair, internet culture, and modern motion sensibility.
